Spotting phishing and avoiding online scams

A text from a supposed parcel service, an email from “your bank”, a shop with suspiciously low prices: online fraud almost always starts with a link. The texts are becoming more polished, the pages look real, and often a single click in an unguarded moment is enough.

This category is about recognising such traps early and reacting correctly: how to spot fake messages and websites, which scams are currently doing the rounds and what you should do if you have already clicked or entered data. Then there is the technical side. A DNS filter can block known phishing domains before the page even loads. It does not replace a watchful eye – it catches what slips through anyway.
