Almost every security solution promises “maximum protection”. Sounds good. But you usually cannot check it. When your home is full of connected devices, though, you want to know where you stand.

A quick note first: DNS (Domain Name System) is the phone book of the internet. Your device asks there which address is behind a name. This is where XIBRO SHIELD filters ads, trackers and phishing sites.
1. Filtering runs on servers in Germany
DNS filtering runs on our servers in Germany. That is a concrete location. To be fair, this also belongs to the picture: as an upstream service we use Cloudflare’s resolver, which already brings its own protection against malicious and fraudulent sites. So we do not claim that every processing step takes place in Germany.
2. DNS logs: without IP address, 91 days
In short: servers in Germany, DNS logs without your IP address and with automatic deletion after 91 days.
Why are there logs at all? They are the basis for the statistics in your account. There you can see how many queries were filtered and which domains were blocked. The logs are not passed on and not used for advertising. If you delete your account, the filter and its log disappear.
We deliberately do not say that nothing is stored. That would be wrong. We tell you what is stored and when it disappears.
3. A tunnel, yes – a change of location, no
XIBRO SHIELD uses a WireGuard tunnel. That is a modern, encrypted connection. Only the DNS queries go through the tunnel. The rest of your traffic goes straight to the internet, just as it would without XIBRO SHIELD.
That is why neither your public IP address nor your connection country changes. A classic VPN (Virtual Private Network), by contrast, reroutes all of your traffic. Many people use one to change their location. XIBRO SHIELD is not a classic VPN service, but a digital DNS shield for everyday life. Browsing feels the same as before, just with fewer ads and less tracking.
4. 30-day money-back guarantee, with the small print
A 30-day money-back guarantee applies to paid plans. Only the amount you actually paid is refunded. A plan activated with an invitation code is not refundable. The period starts with the first activation. Renewals or a change of plan do not restart it.
